DIGITAL DEER
BDS promotes deer education, research and management best practice to ensure a healthy and sustainable deer population in balance with the environment; a key feature of the biodiversity of the UK landscape.
BDS aims to provide a range of opportunities for people to discover more about wild deer in the UK, to encourage an understanding and appreciation of them and their place within our natural landscape
The British Deer Society remains at the forefront of training initiatives and course development and delivery throughout Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
BDS commissions, funds and supports research projects which improve our understanding of the biology of deer and their interactions with their environment.
Our website includes a stunning selection of deer images – mostly taken by BDS members and others provided by kind permission of their owners for educational use. We have annual photography competitions which are free to enter.
