British Deer Society 2019 AGM Weekend - 11th / 12th May 2019
Hosted by our East Anglia branch.
East Anglia branch hosted the AGM weekend with accommodation based at The Doubletree by Hilton Cambridge Belfry hotel.
Saturday’s visit was via coach from the hotel to the Euston Estate, Thetford with a morning option to visit Euston Hall, home of the 12th Duke and Duchess of Grafton including tours of the Hall with its splendid art collection and the beautiful gardens. The estate is also home to fallow, muntjac, roe deer and transitory herds of Red Deer from the Breckland /Thetford woodland areas.
The branch ran Saturday’s events in combination with their May range day at Euston so anyone wishing to, could spend part of their time on the range. The branch also hosted a lunchtime barbeque for all before an afternoon walk with the Estate’s Stalker to hear about deer management and stalking on the estate and deer impact.
Sunday morning at the hotel started with an update on some of the Society’s sponsored research, followed by the Annual General Meeting and then a buffet lunch.
