BDS will be holding its annual London Dinner, again generously sponsored by Knight Frank, in late November. You might not be there on the night, but you will still be able to take part by helping us raise funds for BDS research and education projects. We will have an online auction with sporting goods and lots starting a couple of weeks in advance and ending on the night itself. In addition there will be a brief live auction at the event with a handful of spectacular lots including driven grouse and accommodation in The Highlands, boar hunting in Germany, salmon fishing and an exceptional specially commissioned hand-built Emberleaf knife with a handle crafted from 40,000 year old woolly mammoth ivory and a patterned blade of the finest Damascus steel.
This really beautiful item would make a fabulous collector’s piece or could be put to practical use as it conforms to current game meat hygiene standards. The successful bidder will be able to have their initials or other inscription, laser etched on the blade and embossed on the hand-made leather sheath.
