The Memory Tree: remembering our loved ones

The Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust’s Memory Tree was launched on All Soul’s Day, 2 November 2022. The Memory Tree is an online space dedicated to the remembrance of all those in gamekeeping professions who are no longer with us.

The Memory Tree is an online memorial, providing a special place we can visit to remember and honour people who have left the gamekeeping family. Memorials have been an important way of remembering and honouring our loved ones for centuries: the world’s oldest memorial is thought to be the White Monument in Syria, which is over 4,000 years old. In the same way communities look to physical memorials in villages and towns to remember those who have died, the GWT’s Memory Tree is a memorial for the gamekeeping community across the U.K.

The GWT’s Chief Executive Officer Helen MJ Benson said ‘The Memory Tree is an important part of the way we as a community can remember and pay respect to those who are no longer with us.’

Anyone who would like a member of their family added to The Memory Tree can contact the GWT on enquries@thegamekeeperswelfaretrust.com.
