Introduction to Deer Stalking – Royston, Hertfordshire
On this course you will learn about the deer you have seen in the environment around you, the deer you don’t see that are around you, safety of yourself and others whilst out stalking, the legal use of firearms, safe handling, the suitable uses of different firearms, calibres and ammunition. A brief overview of quarry species, shot placement and reaction to shot, then, an opportunity to use a range of firearms under the supervision of our experienced training team, finally you will be given advice on firearm licencing and your path forward into the world of deer stalking. You will also learn about game meat hygiene.
When attending you should be prepared for some indoor classroom based learning, followed by a hands on experience outside. All weather clothing will be required.
This course is open to both Firearm Certificate holders and complete novices. It is open to both BDS Members and non-members who are over 18 yrs old. Persons aged between 14yrs old and 18yrs old may attend but must be a Member of the BDS in order to comply with firearms legislation.
