ABOUT THE COURSE
Our one-day introduction to deer stalking course is ideal if you are totally new to the idea of deer stalking or have tried a stalk or two and would like to expand your knowledge base, this would be the course to attend.
Based around the requirements you will need to pass the Deer Stalking Certificate 1, you will learn about the deer species, habitat, legalities involved with stalking and experience the DSC1 shooting Assessment.
We will also give you hints and tips on all aspects of Stalking.
You will benefit from the wealth of experience brought to this course by our team of Instructors, who have been involved in the use of firearms and deer stalking throughout their working lives.
You Will Learn About
- Deer you have seen and deer you haven't seen in the environment around you.
- The safety of yourself and others whilst out stalking.
- The legal use of firearms, safe handling, and maintenance.
- The suitable uses of certain firearms and calibres, and ammunition.
- Brief species overview, shot placement and reaction to shot.
- Opportunity to use a range of firearms under the supervision.
- Learn about game meat hygiene.
- Advice on firearm licencing and your path forward.
ONE Day Course
Cost: £150.00
This one-day introduction to deer stalking course will include both indoor and outdoor teaching.
When attending you should be prepared for some classroom-based learning, followed by a hands-on experience outside, and suitable clothing will be required.
This course is open to both Firearm Certificate holders and complete novices. This includes both BDS Members and non-members who are over 18. Persons aged between 14 and 18 may attend but must be a Member of the BDS in order to comply with firearms legislation.
Upon completion, you will receive a certificate of attendance.
