NEWS

Members Meeting .

The next branch get together will be held on this coming Saturday, the 5th of October. The venue is the usual, Whalton Village Hall.

Please do try to come along, as Andreas is giving us his very valuable time. (The weather is set to be shocking, so a nice cup of tea, with biscuits, in a warm cosy room, with a really interesting talk from a genuinely lovely chap is probably the best way to spend this Saturday afternoon!)

When: Saturday 5th October from 3pm to 5pm

Where: Whalton Village Hall, Whalton, Northumberland, NE61 3XA .

Booking: Not required.

Contact: Branch Secretary, northeastengland@bds.org

STALKER MENTORING

Members report that our stalker mentoring scheme is excellent – if you want to join in let me know. And we have three corporate members in the branch, Bill Bryson Library, North Pennines Training and Sandyford Venison, please support them if you can!

Muntjac Monitoring Group

The muntjac monitoring group is now established and operating.  The group’s purpose is to monitor the progress of the species through the branch area by investigating and validating reports of sightings of muntjac deer in the branch area.

The group is led by Ian Smales, supported by branch members Stuart Jones and Neil Baker.

The group has been actively following up reports of muntjac being seen in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and Durham. So far none of the sightings have been proven to be correct.
