Family Membership – Card Payment
Family Membership includes 2 adults (each with full voting rights) and up to 3 children including age 18 in full-time education and all family members must live at the same address.
One adult will be the primary contact who will receive all correspondence. The primary adult will need to provide their full name, address, date of birth and contact details on the application form. The remaining family members are required to provide their full name and date of birth.
BDS family members receive:
- A copy of our quarterly magazine, Deer, packed with articles and information from the experts.
- Optional membership of one or more local BDS branches offering talks, demonstrations, support, advice, and activity days.
- Chance to take part in surveys and research.
- Opportunity to enter our member’s photo competitions.
- Opportunity to join our member’s training and mentor scheme.
- The chance to participate in prize draws and internet auctions.
The British Deer Society also produce a regular free email newsletter called ‘Deerbytes’ which members are encouraged to subscribe to. Members can also find regular news, events and updates on our website and social media channels.

Family Membership – Card Payment
Family Membership includes 2 adults (each with full voting rights) and up to 3 children including age 18 in full-time education and all family members must live at the same address.

Remaining family members are required to provide their full name and date of birth. Each family member gets their own individual membership card (optional) and membership number.

Being a member helps support BDS’ charitable activities in advocating for healthy and valued deer population and sustainable deer management. These include research, campaigning, responding to Government consultations, support and advice, and providing training. Membership rates are annual and run for one calendar year from the month of joining.
Please note: All membership applications are subject to approval by the Board of the British Deer Society. Once you finish your education you will then need to upgrade your membership the following year.

If you are a UK taxpayer we can reclaim the tax on your membership subscriptions and donations. For every £1 you give we can claim a further 25p from the Inland Revenue.
