The project aims to raise awareness, engage the community, collect data, build partnerships, and influence driver behaviour to improve safety for both deer and drivers. This article stresses responsible deer management, especially in disposing of deer carcasses after incidents like Deer Vehicle Collisions (DVCs) and humane dispatch. It highlights the need to ensure public safety and sensitivity by properly handling carcasses and following best practices.
What is a HAD volunteer? A dedicated, private individual who is prepared to go out of their way, very much at any time of the day or night, to attend to a deer, or to any other animal in dire need, at the roadside or elsewhere.
